In reading some of the threads here, I saw a passing mention that the LED tailcap may not work with a main LED lamp assembly. I assume the reason may be that the tailcap runs current through the LA and an LED driver may not allow low current to flow through, kind of like using CFLs on a dimmer?

Is that true? I am getting a Nailbender SST-50 single-mode regulated LA, and would like to get a new-style Pila LED tailcap (with the -ve towards the tail) to put on my older-style Pila GL3X.

EDIT: Question withdrawn as the tailcap won't even work on 4.2 V.
