I'm going to have a crack at designing and making a flashlight. So far I have decided on.

LED: Single XP-G R5
Material: Aluminium 7075 with Stainless Steel front and rear Bezel's (Also a Titanium special edition)
Lens: UCL
Switch position: Rear Clicky
Modes: Off, On (High) and On (Low) with mode memory.

I want to try something different and have a two piece light; i.e. no center thread joint, I have a few different ideas on how to do this successfully.

I need help deciding on the following

Reflector: ???

Maybe the Ledil Regina?http://www.ledil.com/datasheets/DataSheet_Regina.pdf

Battery Type: ???

I cant decide between 18650 or a single CR123A.

Driver/Regulator: ???

Must be able to drive 1.2~1.5A at a high efficiency.

Switch type: ???

I need a reliable source.

So... Any preferences or suggestions?

I like the beam shot of that reflector. Where can I get some?

Batteries. Set it up to use either.

Driver. Sandwich shop will set up an SOB driver for 1.3A. More than that is mostly heat. I have a box full of Chinese drivers from DX. Fun to play with, but I wouldn't put one in a nice light.

Switch. That's a hard one. Not many good choices. The McClickie is supposed be very reliable. I just started using them. They seem nice. Only source I know of is the sandwich shop.

I think the Regina reflector will be to small. Can someone point me in the direction of a new reflector manufacturer?
