I have since taken the light apart & the copper heat sink is up for sale incase someone wants to build a light inexpensively that could reach DEFT FTP level of throw using DX showerhead + Dx66mm Aspheric lens with Cree XRE R2 or about 100Klux using XPG R5.
The heat sink has three parts, a Copper ring is soldered on a flat disk,
then a thick copper inset was thermo glued in side the cup. Lots of work to make it & it allows the led to sit as low as possible to achieve focus with the DX lens.
