I just had to get this one as I finally broke my Raptor 1 at work (quelling a mini riot) - I just love throwers and this seems (by the youtube videos) to be a variable aspheric (uses a lens system - movable from wide to tight in a flash). I will update in a couple of weeks. Got it for $108.00 - I am really looking forward to it. I will compare it to the Raptor 1 by taking the photos at the same spot as I had for the RRT - 1 and directly compare the photos.
I know not many out there - other than hunters - have a real need for a tightly lit spot with almost 0 spill (this is a projector light with a movable lens system). However - with 230 lumens tightly focused - it should do well.
I am not one for technical details - at least without the visuals - so...soon....very soon. Wait for the beam shots.
