Has anyone thought about making a PR or bipin style adapter for the MN21 500 lumen lamp assembly? Since this lamp is putting out a true 500 Lu out the front of the M6, it's gotta be making above 600 Lu at the filament. Does anyone know what the voltage and amp ratings are for this bulb? At $31 per, it's a pricey lamp, but perhaps worth tinkering with...once.

And we know that it works well on a 2 x 3 x 123 configuration, with an advertized battery life of 20 minutes.

I don't know the current and voltage but I can make a guess by extrapolating what the MN16 does. My M3 with MN16 HOLA, uses 1 x 3 x 123 and is advertized at 225 lumens for 20 minutes. It puts out 6.80 volts and 2.5 amps to the MN16. This suggests that the MN21 runs probably a shade over 6.8 volts and 5 amps.

I hope that someone has measured the voltage and current for the MN21 and will share his results with us.

Cool idea Wilkey. You might want to try using an N62 500 lumen lamp also.

Brock's flashlight page has some info on voltages and amp information on the MN21.

An interesting thing I noticed about these lamp assemblies is that they fit pretty well inside the hole of the Carley reflectors. Might put out a nice beam with an orange peeled reflector.

Holy Moley, 6.1V and 4.9A? That'd melt a Mag's guts for sure. Now the N62 at 7.6V and 3.7A is much more doable. Unfortunately, SF doesn't list it on their website anymore. I guess that means it's gone away along with the 12PM that used to run it.

Funny thing, the WA01274 is rated at 7.2V and 2.8A for 553 lamp lumens. If the WA and SF lamps proportion out, that means the N62 was making, what, over 700 lamp lumens with 500 out the barrel?

Thanks for the link Sproing.

Paul, your estimate was pretty close! You eyeball pretty well /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
