Hello Everyone,
A year or so ago, I purchased a Fenix TK-40 after multiple recommendations here at CPF. After loving it and using it quite a bit, I decided to pick up a second to keep in the car.
Upon receiving it last week, I noticed what looks like a different design on the outside. Though that didn't bother me, when I opened it up, I noticed that the insert that holds the batteries seems changed from a sturdy metal and polycarbonate unit to a flimsy plastic one. When everything's all sealed up, it also seems to rattle alot more too.
I almost thought I received a counterfeit model, but it was fulfilled via Amazon (through an awards program at work) and the pictures on Fenix's website also depict this new design.
If I were to return this unit, do you guys know of anyone who is still selling the older model?
I don't have any major gripes with the new design if it turns out to be just as durable, but I am skeptical that this one withstand that same torture test that was posted a while back.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
