Enlightened
Playing in the shop yesterday. Sales have been really slow so I've had some time to work on fun stuff. Does this get anyone more excited?
Any feedback? More detail? Different shapes? This requires two different operations AFTER the CNC process. Turning the radial grooves on the lathe and then milling the axial grooves on the mill. Point being, adding more detail is more time (and more cost). If you are liking the head better, what do you think I should do on the body? Does it work as-is? Right now the axial grooves (along the length of the head) are made with a 1/4" ball mill. I was thinking if I used a 3/8" ball mill they would match the size and depth of the body grooves. Would that be cool?
Alternatively, what WOULD get you interested in one of my lights OR what is preventing you from buying one? Consider this a customer survey. I want to build lights you guys want to buy, not just push whatever I make. So, please let me know what I can do to deliver a light that you want to buy. Only thing is I'd like to stick with the 1x18650 platform for the time being...but let me know if this is a deal breaker/maker for you.
I can do smaller lights eventually but right now I have a lot invested in this "size" light in terms of design, materials, programming, etc.
I've also been talking to a company about PVD coating some lights. Don't know the cost yet. I hope they can do some samples for me over the next few weeks.
Thanks for your feedback!
Jason
