MN61 LED Mod

I have a MN61 that has the bulb broken off at the base. Is there any way that I can drill out the center of the LA and install an LED on top? My biggest concern would be that there would not be enough heat sinking in the plastic LA.

Any thoughts?

I'm having the same thought, except I'm looking at the prospect of potting a new lamp in its place. Its a definite no-go for LED, the lamp tower is not much heatsink to werk with, unless you are planning to build it into a hurricane light
