Hi
I'm going to order this torch, eBay Item number: 120767159770
The torch has a xm-l 6T led in it. I want to change the led for a 1watt 940nm led. I want to use it for night vision illumination that's why I'm swooping leds. Just though I'd give it a try.
Is it compatable with what's in this torch. Is it a matter of just taking one led out and soldering the other in. Will the driver and heatsink be okay.
I'm new to torch techno, so if it's a stupid question just ignore it.
Cheers keg

God loves a try'er

Before you order anything: Consider buying a host which takes a "P60" drop-in. The P60 is an industry standard and you can buy infrared, ultraviolet, cool white, warm white LED P60 drop-ins. The hosts, such as a Solaforce ones, can have different batteries, ranging from AA, AAA, Lithiums Rechargeables etc. The host will set you back $20, and the drop-ins start at $10-12. These parts are like LEGO and are a lot of fun. I must however warn you now. Flashlight LEGO is highly addictive (and rewarding). Once this happens, there is no turning back.
