Howdy folks,

What are your thoughts on helmet lights for soldiers, I would like to buy one for my son who just joined up. I have been out of the service for 25 years, and I have no ised what to look at.

Thanks.

There are quite a few options.

Surefire is the most expensive but if you check out Gunbroker, Craigslist, ebay (be wary of imitations) you can get them for $50+

Streamlight Sidewinder is pretty good too. It is very adaptable.

Petzl Tactikka is a pretty common headlamp.

You should find out if batteries will be difficult to find for your Son. Lithiums are a bit harder I think than alkaline AA/AAA so that might be a deal breaker for your son.

Thanks 007, appreciate the input. Looked at a few on the 'net and it looks like some can run on cr123 or AA.
