I have a leatherman supertool, I bought the nylon sheath for it that holds a mini mag flashlight, the one that has 2 double AA's, but what flashlight is there, that is basically the same length, takes the same size batteries, but is built heavier duty, brighter, and must fit in the sheath, I dont know to much about lights, but I would like to stay under $50.00, any help would be appreciated, thanks..

why not keep the mini-mag and simply drop in a Badboy 400 or 500 from Dat2Zip? Add the sapphire glass crystal and Kroll tailswitch, shipping, etc. and you will be at the $50 price point. It is a regulated Luxeon star conversion. Bright (!) Long runtime. Durable. Solid State. etc.

You really can't go wrong. See:

Another less $ option is to go with the inretech drop-in. Same kind of advantages with a little less brightness, more battery life, etc. See:

best of luck!

The length of 3 CR123s are approximately equal to 2 AAs, so i guess any 9V Surefire would be about the same size and may fit in the holster. However they're more than twice over your budget.
