Arc LS Voltage

i was wondering if anyone could tell me what is the highest safest voltage i can run an ls at before i affect the circuits. thanks.

Take the Vf of the particular LED used at 500mA. Add 0.3V. The sum is about as high as would be prudent.

what if i dont know the vf? how would i find out

Mount LED in intended final configuration, apply 500mA to LED from a current controlled source, measure Vf.
