Are there any 1x18650 that would be under 5.5 inches to fit in a Maxpedition Micro for edc? Preferably with XM-L2 T6 or U2? . edit I see the eagletac d25lc2 2xcr123 lights also take 18650's and are <5"so I partially answered my own question. Any other 1x18650 edc rec's?

The other type of light I'd love would be an omnivore, made for 1x18650's but that could also accept any type of ~AA sized or 2cr123-sized primary or rechargeable, 1.5v up to 4. That could be handy in emergencies... Do they make a small light like that?

Fenix E35: ~4.6"

Thanks the response. It's the right size, but uses an older XP-E and if i'm using 18650 i'd like a max higher than 225 lumen. Leaning toward Eagletac D25LC2 XML2U2. Only 4.5" length, talk abt a pocket rocket... I think this is the perfect EDC light to go in a bag or organizer... With a AA or AAA for emergency backup.

Led lumen: 850/557/69/7
ANSI FL-1 lumen: 618/411/51/6

With lower-low-mode setting disabled, lowest output will increase by about 6 times, to 18 lumen, and the second lowest output will double, to around 100 lumen (?)

Runtime (1x18650)
C1500RC: 1.8/3/33/150+ hours
LC2000RC: 1.5/2.4/25/150+ hours

ThruNite TN12 is a hair shorter than 5", and accepts whatever you can fit inside the tube; 2xCR123A, 2xRCR123A or 1x18650. In terms of output, you'd be surprised what the tiny sucker can do.

I also carry Quark X Tactical AA as one of my backup lights. The low voltage head accepts 0.8~4.2V. Using the 1xAA tube, you can run it using 1xAA or 1x14500. Swap the tube out with 2xAA and you can use 2xAA. Swap it out once again with 1xCR123A tube and you can power the light using either 1xCR123A or 1xRCR123A.

Ah I found selfbuilt's site and reviews, wow... between that and the wiki, I don't think I need to ask many more questions... lol

Zebra sc600 beam shots and tests compare well to other 1x18650's, clearly they put a lot of work into this light. And I see the interface and efficient circuit gets high marks, but to be honest the design strikes me as a bit clunky. Maybe they went with function over form with the thick flared head on such a compact light.

Also I want to go with an all black knurled design. D25LC2 just seems like the one to beat for a small 1x18650.

As for omnivore, I read that the lights are most efficient when designed for a specific battery, so... I'll prob just wind up getting one light for each battery type. My plan:

1xAAA: Tank 007 E09 or 703 or Fenix LD01, on my amazon list
1xAA: 4sevens mini MA XP-G2 R5 should be here tmrw
1xCR123 or RCR123: maybe wait for something titanium
1x18650: Eagletac D25LC2 on my list, prob will pull trigger when XML2's are available.

And of course after I have all those, I'll prob want a 1x18650 with a magnetic control ring...

A couple quality 18650 cells and charger are of course also on my list... Ah how did I stumble upon this obsession again, I was just looking for a good flashlight, lol... damn you google ;)
