Does the SF M2 bezel restrict light output?

I've been playing with my very cool black M2 shock isolated bezel and it seems to me
that it absorbs some of the light coming out of the LA due to the rather deep recess
of the LA in the bezel. Am I right about this, and if so has anyone done any comparison
output tests to see how much is getting lost? I know that the hot spot is the same but
I don't think there is as much spill light. Perhaps it is just my imagination, though.
Anyone?

yup...it does cut down on the spill light, but the hotspot itself remains unaffected. its the price you have to pay for the shock isolation /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
