Mag 4D XML

-
Stock Maglite 4D
- UCL lens
- Smooth metal reflector
- XML-U3 on 14mm pcb
- MagD alu heatsink
- NANJG 2.8A linear regulator (3 levels with memory)

Runs on 4 large capacity (9000 mAh) NiMH batteries.
Because of the smooth reflector it throws really good.

Multi level, powerful and cheap to build and run.
If you love big lights this is the perfect Mag4D mod IMHO.

Enjoy! :)

How does the board behave with fresh batteries. I had problems running 4 big cells and lower amps. When the batteries were fresh after about 1 minute it started acting all flakey, dimming and flicking and such. I've used 4aa's with an xml, but when 4 bigger cells(1/2 d's) were used the voltage was too high at first.

as any amc board it will get very hot from 4 nimh cells, and will shut off chips one by one due to internal heat protection.

i have had this problem everytime i used amc boards. i don't use them no more, unless it is fed by 1 li ion.

The driver in my light is fully potted into a secondary heatsink using heat conductive epoxy and so far I've didn't have any problems.
