Looking for info on 20.000 to 25.000mcd 10mm LED\'s

On www.conrad.com, I found 10mm LED's that are rated 20.000mcd to 25.000mcd. Only available in yellow, orange and red, and no mentioning of angle degree. My guess is that they have a very narrow angle, but I'm not sure.

Anyone know more about these type of LED's?

They are probably Toshiba LEDs and if so, are *extremely* narrow. Something like 3-4 degrees, the beam consists of a square spot with a hole in the center, essentially a projection of the die inside. Total lumen output is low, nothing more than your usual 5mm LED, but in a bigger housing. If you stack up a big bunch of them you might make a useful medium-long-throw flashlight, but by themselves they`re only really novelties.

There was a seller on eBay a week or two ago offering many auctions for 16,000 mcd white LEDs with a 15° beam angle. Prices were $19.99 Buy-It-Now for 20 pieces and $94.99 Buy-It-Now for 100 pieces. I checked yesterday and I don't see them any more, but sometimes sellers take a break now and then. I'm sure they'll be back. ChiWing is offering 10000 mcd, 15° white LEDs on eBay at $25 for 100 pieces shipped. Actually, the 10000 mcd is the maximum. They specified the range at 7000 min, 8500 typ, 10000 max. There are also some auctions for 12000 mcd, 15° white LEDs. I tend to think these would all be more useful than a part with a very narrow beam angle.
