L4 head & Vital Gear KL1 AA twistie pack

Does anyone know how this combination will work ? I think that the brightness won't be as much with the AA cells but what will the runtime be with the AA twistie pack ? I thought I could get the best of both worlds, a bright led light that uses cheaper AA cells and is pocketable. Thanks.

The brightness will fall off rather quickly with alkalines and be way below snuff with NiMH, from what I understand. If you want to spend cash up front to economize on batteries, use a Pila lithium ion rechargeable. That combination seems to work really well.

I have both. The AA battery pack works well on the KL4. It's about the same brightness as a single 123 but the run time is considerabbly longer. It's not nearly as bright as 2X123 setup though.
