What\'s next?

I just started this flashlight obsession in October.

My collection so far includes

ARC AAA (started it all)
ARC AA
ARC LSL-ST
ARC LSHF-P
Surefire E2 (2)
Streamlight UltraStinger
Mini-mag (2)
UK 4AA AS2

What would be the next light of choice to add too my family?

Re: What\'s next?

I'd add a 3 cell CR123 light. Streamlight TL-3 Xenon, or Surefires C3. The SL TL-3 is about $ 60, the SF C3 about $125.

These lights REALLY have some throw, and still maintain a small footprint.

Will they out throw the UltraStinger?

A resounding NO! If you would like to up the ante from the UltraStinger try the TigerLight or MagCharger. Both are "Throw Demon's".

Hmmm, the person I spoke with at brightguy told me the UL out throws the MagCharger?

I'm only about half joking, these are all very good lights. The one you choose depends on your use.

Hello Argetni,

Welcome to CPF.

You might also take a look at the Hyper Lux V.

You won't be disappointed with the TigerLight either.

Re: What\'s next?

The US will out throw the MC with a old style bulb, but with a MC new style bulb, it will throw more than TL or US. At least that's what I remember reading in this forum somewhere. The MC/w new style bulb won't be as bright, but will throw furthur than the US or TL

Re: What\'s next?

The Magcharger with the WA 01160 bulb will outthrow most any other conventional flashlight, but is about 2x as heavy as the Ultrastinger. I would not want to carry it very far. For use around the house or car where weight isn't a big problem, a 3MCP Vector spotlight will totally outthrow any flashlight and cost only $40 or so. It has its limitations but is an often overlooked alternative when people buy expensive powerful flashlights.

Re: What\'s next?

I'd try for an ElektroLumens Blaster III and a TT3C. I don't see anything long-lived on your list, who knows when the next power failure will be.
