I just received my first loose luxeon LED. (not a star) I know it has to connected w/ a specific polarity on the connectors. Would someone please tell me the secret so I don't let out the magic smoke too soon? Thanks.

THe +'ve is the side that has a larger rectangular slot cut out from one of the shot legs. Solder onto the longer leg on that same side. Also with a LIII, you can use 2 x 1.5v fresh batts and quickly make a circuit with the LED is you are unsure.

I was just going to suggest using a couple of AA cells to determine polarity, but I see I've been beaten to it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thank you. That was very bright! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif Now I can figure out what to do with it. Until then I have a really bright object and I can amuse myself by making these weird spots appear in front of my eyes.
