Just learned today that legendary radio and TV announcer Don Pardo passed away in Tucson on Monday. He was 96.

He's been the voice of SNL from the beginning, and was a radio announcer ever since the industry started tinkering with this new-fangled thing called television. He had a lifetime contract at NBC, a very unique thing in the industry, and that speaks to the unique quality of that rich baritone voice.

RIP good sir. Perhaps you can do the audience warm-ups for Robin Williams now.
