Hi folks. I am taking on a little project that requires modifying a dive light. I would like to find a light under $25 since this is the first run after all, and i would like to switch out the LED to a blue one in the 450-470 nm range. I am pretty sure this can be done, however i have never done this, so i will be using the forum for reference and help from you guys with more experience.

To better scope out the project, I will not be diving extreme depths, 60 feet at max, light will be used to give a different contrast to underwater videos/photos. I don't really want to use a blue filter, i don't think it would have the same effect.

I have looked around and so far found these flashlights that look like they may work,

The link above is for a laser pointer but if you select the last item all the way to the right you will see a flashlight.

I looked at amazon first because i can get the light sooner, but I will look at other sites and compare shipping time vs cost savings and see if its worth it.

Do you guys think these can be modded for what i need? Would you suggest another route?

Thanks in advance.

You should check out the Dive Lighting sub-forum under Special Application Lighting. There are numerous threads about modding various lights including, IIRC, one that looks just like the first one you linked.

The second link includes several bars on which you could go "all the way to the right", and just the first one includes three flashlights on the far right page. Also, I suspect those bars change quite frequently. You'll need to be more specific.
