I like my TK11, but my SC52 keeps up with it. So why bother with using it.
So I was wondering what difference a XP-L would make with a direct replacement for the XP-G R5.
First, Is it possible?
Second, It is regulated so what kind of gains would there be?

1. It is possible to replace the XP-G with the XP-L. The XP-L has the same footprint as the XP-G.
2. Without knowing the particular flux bin of the XP-L, it is hard to pinpoint a number. You would need to examine the CREE datasheet for both the XP-G and XP-L to determine the values at a given current for a particular flux bin. Also worth noting is that the newer CREE LEDs are tested at a higher temperature than the XP-G. You will note that the XP-G is tested at 25°C, and the XP-L is tested at 85°C. Regardless, you will likely see at least a 100 lumen gain with the XP-L LED.
