Got the wolf-eyes version of the 150b li-ion. Couldn't use them on the tl3 because the total length is 104mm or 4mm longer. Went to sabahoceanic.com and got me 2x17500 bare cells, charged them, mixed 1x17500 and 1x150b, and what have we got? The successful use of li-ion in the tl3!!! Will try some discharge test and see if the 150b circuit will cutout if the voltage falls below 3.6v and protect both cells. Runtime will have to wait. Thanks for your time.

Hi, I'm happy with those Li-ion cell, too.

I currently using 2 pila 150s in my SF D3.
It works - but the push button is more firm since the 2 Li-ion batteries is longer than 3 123a.
Anyway, my power hungry P91 see much more use now.

Xminxm, brightness is 100% as using 3x123. But runtime is less, say about 45-55 minutes with the last 15 min at 70% before the 150b cutout. The 17500 still reads 3.8v while the 150b should cut out at 3.25v or 3.2v.

Xminxm,
P91 drains the battery quite fast. Different brands of 123a give different results.
As I do not have SF123a but only Panasonic 123a, I'd say the overall output is about the same at the start while the Pila ran out sooner.
I strongly recommend you to buy the Pila's recharge set. Other than the benefit of the cost, it is a HK company. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Kevin Tan,
I see you are using other Li-ion together with pila's one. Does it contain any kind of protection circuits? Those cell could be dangerous when mistreated.

I am charging the bare cell 17500 using a modified nokia charger connected to the protection circuit of an old li-ion battery. Charges the 17500, 18650 and 17670 to 4.26v and stops.

The single 150b will protect the over discharge of the bare cell. I just did a rundown and the 17500 is still 3.8v when the 150b shutdown.

Read the li-ion safety faq in the electronics, battery included forum.
