I couldn't find any information about this some time ago and finally figured it out.

I was really wondering about putting a Malkoff drop-in inside but that is to be determined. Since I came across a 6P this seemed like useful infomation since some early Pilas are incan and there aren't so many OEM parts floating around nowadays.

Two very over built torches.

At first the Pila one seems much larger in size.

Same diameter though.

Similiar though.

Pila is a bit longer though.

It lights!!! Yaaaay!!

The pila module resembles Pelican and Pentagon modules from days gone by.
Interesting, I seen new obviously old stock Pentagon lights on Amazon but it represents all that I think is wrong so I didn't get one. I don't really see a lot of old Pelicans around but they seem to be Chinese unlike their polymer lights from back in the day.

I have an interest in Pila lights but I haven't found enough accessories for it to keep it in rotation.

Sweet! Love to see old lights working again, and the Pila light and battery, old CPF memories come flooding back! LOL! I remember being fascinated by the one PILA batt that was the same size as a 17500 and two of them would replace three CR123's behind a P90 bulb.

My brother-in-law was over a few months ago and said he was having problems with his light, which I was surprised to see was a (2) CR123 incan. I dusted off a P60 from my parts bin and plopped it in and it worked fine. I had to stretch the spring just a little I KNOW YOU'RE NOT REALLY SUPPOSED TO a little bit and it light up perfectly.

I've been trying out a lot of older lights lately. I only ever heard of Pila on CPF but it is not a very common brand. I wanted one way back in the day and eventually forgot about them until I seen them mentioned on some forum that had nothing to do with lights. I did some searching and found one for sale and now I like to play around with it sometimes.

People forget these older lights got us to where we are now. If they are modular and you can find accessories for them there is no reason to not use them, if even just for fun.

I have a Led Lenser V2 restoration project in the works. It has slight switch problems from being dropped or something and corrosion.

Here is sample picture.

I'm working through it now. If I can't resolve the issues I'll be asking around here for opening the bottom cap nondestructively. It is a very modular torch and most components are intact. I believe it was upgraded in brightness from 3xLED to one fairly decent one and if not there are always PCB and LEDs to mod. The design if anything makes this totally possible.
