Nice looking light, but only 60 lumens on a single AA? They could do a lot better than that. I paid $35.00 for a Thrunite Archer that put out 178 and I doubt if the Gerber is made any better. It seems to be pretty much on par with other Gerber lights I own. They are tough and dependable, which is a good thing, but underwhelming performers. I know that brightness is not everything, but they could still do a lot better than just 60 lumens.

Looks handy. I hadn't seen those yet. Wonder if Mr. Grills will be degrading them?? :) J/K. I like Mr. Grills.

Seriously, the price does seem rather high for these. I also notice they have several models. One runs either 2AA's or 3 CR123's. Thats kinda neat.

Not sure where you read 60 on a AA. Is there like an adaptor inside for the different length and width cells?

Hmmmm.....Looks like I got that one wrong!! I was actually looking at one on Walmarts webpage. That one is also a lot cheaper, so maybe there is / was an older model.

Those increased brightness specs must be new. If you look at the description of this light at Amazon.com, gerber-tools.com, and other dealers, the brightness specs are lower.

For example:

When I click your link I get to a page saying this:

LITHIUM CR123 BATTERY PERFORMANCE

  • High Mode Output : 125 lumens
  • High Mode Runtime : 1.5 hours
  • Low Mode Output: 25 lumens
  • Low Mode Runtime : 9 hours
  • Length: 3.5 inches

AA ALKALINE BATTERY PERFORMANCE

  • High Output : 60 lumens
  • High Output Runtime : 1.25 hours
  • Low Output: 12 lumens
  • Low Output Runtime : 6 hours
  • Length: 4.0 inches

Strange...

And the light is longer when using AA so I'll guess it's not a design like Zebralight SC80.
