I have a Ginseng Polaris that used CBP 1650 batteries, (lower internal resistance that maintains higher voltage), but they all leaked and were thrown away years ago.

Where can I buy replacement for those? Or is there something new nowadays?

Also I have Mag85 and Mag74 mods, noticed they arent that bright lately, is it because of batteries getting old?

Thanx!

Fivemega!!! I have your mag mods from like 10 years ago! One of it look like medival mace. I been away from CPF for so many years and a lot of stuff are foreign to me now.

Eneloops like those low self discharge type used in photography?
If your M*g74 is 2D, you may want to switch batteries to pair of protected Redilast 18650 and 3 protected 18650 in 3D M*g85
Less batteries to deal with, less self discharge and much higher run time per charge.
There are many other brand of protected 18650 in market but not many of them are capable of incandescent spike.
Please note that to center 18650 batteries in D barrel some PVC pipe is needed and slight mode to good tail spring contact.
If you still want to go NiMH AA batteries,
black Eneloop is the way to go.
You can also use 4 IMR 26500 in 3D M*g to power up Polaris.
Voltage of 6AA is almost same as 2x18650, voltage of 9AA is almost same as 3x18650 and voltage of 12AA is almost same as 4xIMR26500
Effest IMR 26500 is recommended.
