Streamlight Trident Headlamp...

I bought one of these gems. While I would be willing to bet there are better ones out there this little Trident put's out an amazing amount of light for the money. Running just one LED (not even a luxeon) you can easily negotiate through a trail through the woods.

I have used mine camping, but I mostly use it while I am tinkering with my truck. I like the ability to ramp up to get the amount of light needed for the job at hand.

I did a run time test and found the 200 hour claim a bit optimistic. My lamp with 1 LED did continue to "glow" at 200 hours, but I think useful light from the LED's is about 24 hours or so. The bulb goes for 2 hours and then the LED's are at a level that they would be from 24 hours of run time with 3 LED's running.

I have dropped it a few times putting it on, but everything is still working fine.

Great light. The switch on my first one went belly up but Streamlight replaced the whole unit for free, even sent new batteries.
