Has anyone heard of the DaqLED safety light?
It's supposedly this LED light strip meant to be mounted to scooters to make them visible at night or in crappy ambient lighting conditions.

I just went to their website and bought two, so we'll see how good they are fairly soon.

DAQLEDS Safety Lighting Systems
The product looks interesting, at least in their pictures. It's supposed to compose of one or more LEDs and a specially ground acrylic piece that glows like a very long lightstick or maybe a really gussied-up Krill.

They don't show any daylight pictures or give any measurements, so I don't know if I just flushed my $28 down the crapper yet or not. (I bought two, at $12.95 apiece + S&H)

Craig,

I think we can at least guess the size of theses safety lights, since the top right picture shows two of those lights on a scooter ... eh?

Maybe... I've never seen one of the scooters really close up (or stopped a rider and measured his scooter) so any guess I make will have little basis for fact.

So, the guess would be the lights are somewhere between 1 and 2 feet in length. %X

Bad news to report on this light.

After ordering and paying directly from their website, a week later the following message showed up in my e-mail:

Dear Mr. Johnson,

We are sorry to inform you that your money is being
refunded for the 2 Blue Blaze. This product line has
been contracted and made exclusive.

Sincerely,

Sales@DAQLEDS

They refuse to tell me WHERE they can be purchased, yet their on-site sales page is still active. Figure that one out. http://www.daqleds.com/order.htm

A few minutes ago (two days after receiving the above message), I got a another message that my online payment to them had been rejected (by them), so at least I got my refund. I checked, and sure enough there it was.

But I still have no idea where I can buy the $?*@~% things, and I really want a pair of the $?*@~% things!!

So apparently, the saga of the DAQLED Blue Blaze Safety Light has come to an untimely and unexpected demise.
