I recently got the bug to try my hand at assembling my own lights. I was on mtn electronics' page and put together what appears to be a decent set of components, but then it occurred to me that I should probably have run this stuff by you knowledgeable guys here first, in order to see if there would be any issues with this build (in terms of components). The stuff is on the way, so I will have these items whether they will work together or not, but I can always order additional stuff should the need arise. I basically wanted a compact, zoomable single 26650 with a warm tint, so here's the stuff:

http://www.mtnelectronics.com/index...ch=QLITE+REV.A+7135*8+3.04A+LED+DRIVER+-+17mm (stock config. with no additional options added)

http://www.mtnelectronics.com/index...=CREE+XM-L2+T5+5D3+LED+on+Noctigon+16mm+MCPCB

I also ordered a couple of these to power it: http://www.orbtronic.com/protected-26650-li-ion-battery-5200mah-orbtronic

What say ye?

all seems right.

good luck with a build, 1 thing i'd work on, is to make the "seat" where led will sit, smoother, it is rough machining, there'll be many air gaps, but without at least a drill press, it is very hard to do, straight and leveled, manually, use good paste too

Thanks. Re: thermal: I'm thinking of using Arctic Alumina two-part thermal adhesive on this one. I have some fairly fresh left over from something unrelated, so I thought I'd use it. Any comment on this?
