Hi. I just purchased a Manker T01, I've learned here in CPF and BLF that the T01 is picky with 14500 batts particularly with sizes.
I found this Fenix 14500 at amazon.ca, would this fit and work well with the Manker T01? Amazon.ca is my best bet to source this, but if I have no choice, please recommend which brand or model 14500 is proven with the T01, and where its available.

looks like you bought T01 gen1.

a few weeks ago the T01 gen2 was released which accepts protected 14500's.

I actually use unprotected imr14500 flattops from Xtar simply by attaching a small round neodymium magnet on the positive end. Works pretty good for getting full power out of the T01.

btw the IMR14500 by Xtar are the 600MAh ones. The 800MAh are not IMR high drains so can't give the Amps like the 600MAh versions can.

Thank you for the replies.

What is the difference between 14500 and 14505 batteries?
I found some 14505 in a local battery store. Tried them on my Manker T01 ver1, they fit but when I turned it on, it gave very low power output, the light even on turbo mode was like 50 lumens. I told the staff maybe its just has low charge but when he tested the 14505 I tried it was full or near full charge. I wasnt sure if the staff tested it right or if he knows how.

I just got a gen2 T01, the Efest imr 14500 didn't fit, it was a little too long. I had 2 eneloops that just fit. 1 eneloop was working but the light would shut off when going to level 2. 1 eneloop didn't work at all. It seems that the T01 is very fussy with battery length. I tried a Energizer lithium AA that fit ok but it wouldn't light up turbo level. btw my eneloops were the standard variety, not the pro. I really like the T01 but I will have to find 14500 cells that fit.

Wondering if anyone has 14500 update recommendations for the T01. Have one on the way!
There seems to be varying reports on the forum as to what works or not?

Mountain Electronics has Windyfire IMR 14500 flat top cells that fit my T01, I finally can get turbo level with no flickering. The lights aren't working in the parking lot where I live, so I tried out a couple of throwers tonight. Both my neighbor and myself were amazed with the T01 performance.

Thanks chumley for the recommendation! Good to have that info, though I've seen some say flats won't work in the T01 because of the design of the positve contact end of the light? Maybe that was in a version 1 model? (ref. turboBB73 utube review) What version may I ask do you have?
With your very favorable report in mind, it's going to be a long 2-3 week wait for arrival !!

I have version 2 of the T01. The flat top cell works fine in my light, although I think there is a button top available. I wanted to get the shortest cell to make sure the tail cap could twist all the way. I try to avoid batteries with fire in the name, but I figured that Mountain Electronics wouldn't even offer if it was junk.

I'm wondering if anyone has proposed on the forum or actually performed an alteration of the spring? I thinking a reduction of a few millimeters in length and subsequent reconfiguration of the battery end of the spring? Done properly, this should allow for a greater choice of battery options?

I have the Fenix 14500 that the OP posted and it does not fit my T01 ver. 2. I removed the protection circuit to make it work.

When I use Alkalines or Eneloops (1900mah) the T01 does not work properly. I only get moonlight and a brighter setting plus the special modes. I can't even program it using the Pro mode.

I ordered a pair of 14500 efest 700 flats which turned out to fit very well. The UI works flawlessly with them. With eneloop pro's the light will operate in pro mode but can not be properly programmed. This is now my daily go to light.
