Total noob question on 18650s...

On that type light, I use Samsung INR18650-35E 3500mAh (pink). You will get long runtimes. I pay about $6 each.

The ones you linked are not bad though.

Lumintop recommends using a protected cell with it. I don't think the Panasonic you selected includes the protection circuit. The same cell should be available with the protection circuit. That would work great with the light.

That's true, it's not protected.
For a slight improvement over the Panasonic, get Keeppower 18650 3500mAh or 3600mAh (Black). The both test at exactly the same capacity.

I would add a word of caution about buying rechargeable cells from Amazon. Fake cells have, from time to time, seeped into Amazon's supply chain due to their practice of "binning" like items from various suppliers. Many people buy from Amazon without having problems, but it's too risky for my taste. I get my cells from proven suppliers who can guarantee genuine cells.
