might try a pila light...

here is a gl4 for about $90.

it's rated at 195, which is pretty close. usually i dont' trust lumen ratings from manufacturers, but i think these are accurate /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

it runs on either 123's or pilas.

www.jsburlys.com/ carries the complete line of pilas, take a look /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

What is cheap?
The upcoming elecktrolumens 4 "d" tri-star is rated at 216 lumen's for $119.95. About $1.80 a lumen.
Wayne's lumen claims seem to be on the money so far.

On the other hand you could go to Target and buy a 2 million candlepower lead acid handheld spotlight for $20.00.
that works out to be somthing like 0.000007 dollars per lumen.

i actually find that Wayne's lumen claims are extremely modest..

both my Blaster 3 and FT3C are brighter than what he claims on his site. *shrug*

Hi,
The streamlight TL-3 clain 200 lumens, and is pretty small
I have one and the other day I pitted it against a Mag-lite 6 "D" with Magnun Star Xenon bulb.
The T L-3 was brighther and the distance was 78 yard against my wooden fence.
It cost $60.- at brightguy, takes 3 123A cells, and last about one hour, it came with a spare bulb in the head.
Spares bulb are avalaible at Brightguy for $5.-

The TL3 and Surge are about equal in brightness. The TL3 may have the edge, but not by that much.

Hi Paulr,
I own both lights, the surge (115 lumens) which use a faceted reflector and the T L-3 (200 lumens) I pitted both against the same fence 78 yards away. Yes the Surge is bright but more of a flood light and doesn't reach that far, consequently the T L-3 illuminated that fence and the trees around much better.

My TL-3 is significantly brighter than my Surge.
Also, I never trust manufacturers lumen ratings too. 3W is rated 72 lumen. 5W is rated 120 lumens. But L4 is just rated 65 lumens by SF.
And my U bin(87.4~113.6) running at 750mA is as bright as E2e. The lumens rating may varied from manufacturers sometimes.
around 200 lumen & cheap? GL4, TL3, SL6 may do.
