You veterans got to witness a bunch of what must have been seen as magic taking place back in the day.
You too are lucky to play a role in how those $1 solar lights came about.

Funny you should mention that.

As a Photographer for the past 50 YEARS,
I have seen lots of progress and changes.

Had a Darkroom in my basement, where I developed and printed
my Black & White film.

For color, I'd often wait a WEEK to view my results.

Now --
these "kids" can snap a photo on their cellphones,
and share it on "The Internet" in a matter of seconds.

My first digital camera was 0.9 megapixels. Even thumbnail size photos were fuzzy.

My first LED flashlight was a triple LED that put out 12 lumens. As in 4 lumens from each LED and it was labeled "super bright". Until 2014 I thought that was all an LED could put out until a coworker showed me his 350
lumen flashlight. I was blown away by that thing, and soon after joined CPF.
My wallet has been thinner ever since.

"u newbies are so lucky"

I went from single XM-L2 excitement eight years ago when I was a newb, to 18 x XHP70.2 excitement, to 4 x SBT90.2 excitement.

Recall anxiously awaiting my Arc LSH-S 79.00 on sale, rated at 14-18 lumens (not 100% sure on that figure but it was very low compared to choices available today), think it was around 2003.

This is what I was thinking… it was pure magic around 2007.
