Oops, wrong model number its HP7R. I was looking at both of them. The 8R was cheaper but you are right that has AAAs. Though I have the HP7 which doesn't have the rechargeable option. I don't know how safe their lithium ion batteries are, I had a close encounter with my phone battery, ballooned up a little which is why I prefer using Eneloops/NiMhs instead.

I think the Sofirn SF11 was my favorite 4xAA of recent vintage. Looks like they've discontinued it. Sad.
