I know this has probably been posted elsewhere but I can't seem to find it using the search. What are the different colored leds used for?

D,
A question like that is rather broad.
Let's see if this makes sense.

Humans preceive things by color. Very often spicific colors can be used to highlite things.

In a war zone, it pays not to be noticed.

Since the human eye dosen't respond well to blue, lots of troopers use blue lights to get around in the dark.

Also some light colors show blood trails better in the dark.

Ive got some UV lights coming in to hunt scorpiens and other nasty bugs. Entertainment is what you make it here.

Go to our library. Time Life had a wonderful series on photography. In there is a amazing section on color preception. Also Eastman Kodak has a lot to say on the subject. Perhaps that will help. Most anything on basic color photography.

In a pinch, a preimum photo store (not the photo counter at Wall Mart) will have gel filters for sale. Get a Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green. Experiment with your existing lighting tools.

It's play time.

Keep it warm
