Hi people,

Got my hands on A Pelican M6 LED.

I was wondering if it's ok to have it increased to a 9 volt by way of a cell extender. Will it smoke?

Thanks in advance.

Yes!
There is no real regulation, at least not enough to handle the extra power.

I think you'll let all the magic smoke out if you try to run it from 3 cells instead of 2.
But I only have a single evaluation sample of this flashlight, so I cannot test this theory for you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

Patrick,

I'm sorry, I answered the second part of your question first, it WILL smoke the LED if you extend it to 3 cells. There is no real voltage protection circuitry.

So NO, don't extend it. Its a 2 cell light, and unless you mod it significantly, it should thus remain.
