Hey.. i'm toying with the idea of modding my bro's CMG to Lux3... was going to use a boost ckt and the standard AA batt... but doing some poking around I stumbled into some NiMH 1/3 AA bats... only have about 60% the WH rating of alk. but in high-drain situations i'm sure they have more oomph, possibly can actually put out enough current to run 3W. Could I use a 'badboy' board to keep voltage up and will it run DD when Vbatt is above Vf?
What kind of power can you get out of a bb? it says 1.5W, but if you get the 700 it would be 2.5 so i'm confused... will the 700 only work with 1W emitters?
In any event... even if i only get 1.5W that would be a helova CMG.
I could probably DD but from my testing with LiON 3.6... probably would get 300mA at emitter, i'd rather have 500. DD solution sure would be simple though, just need to figure out a reflector/lens solution.
