I am bit confused about the brightness of the white Nichia LEDs.

Has the R rank 4800 or 5600 or 6400 or 6800mcd?
Has the S rank 6400 or 6800 or 8000mcd?

There is also said the R rank had originally 5600mcd and are now sold as 6400 or 6800mcd because of a different measuring method. What is this difference?

Which one is really how bright? Who can confirm me the correct figures?

I know PG mentioned these figures somewhere. But you all know how many threads and post I had to search trough.....

Hi Rene.
I was sent an email from Nichia Europe and received their latest catalog today. Here are the details for the NSPW500BS:-

Q 4600
R 6400
S 9200

These are typical values which can increase by as much as 20%.

I have also received both S and R ranked units which I have been testing. The S really is bright.

See you in CH??
