Mosst of the lock out tailcaps achieve their objective by one of two techniques.
1) move the switch contact areas away from each other enough that pushing a button all the way will not be enough to make the connection
2) Move the battery contacts far enough away from the battery that the battery cannot touch the endcap and the other end at the same time.
You can simulate #2 by shortening the tailcap spring. I'm assuming that you want the lockout feature, not the pushbutton tactical momentary on button.
