The McLux-Aleph Series is praised for the high degree of modularity. There's the modularity within the series like swapping heads or LEs, but there's also a lot going on between the Aleph Series and other brands. This is the so-called E-Series modularity concept based on the SF E-Series dimensions where swapping parts between different lights and manufacturers is just as easy as it is within the Aleph Series.

This thread's purpose is to show all the compatible parts in this game. Unless otherwise mentioned all the parts are completely interchangeable.

:caution: You still have to respect the restrictions because of LEDs, drivers and batteries! Think first before playing Flashaholic-LEGO and protect your light! :caution:

Surefire E-Series ==============================

- E1 and E2 standard body (lowest pic): out of production
- E1e and E2e Elite bodies with bezel-up clip
- Exe-Elite Head with MN01, MN02 or MN03
- Standard Head with clip attached … :caution: might not fit every body because of clip!
- E2D Head with the same choice of incan lamps
- KL1 – old style: LED-head with either LD or HD and an NX05 optic running on 1-3x123
- KL1- new style: LED head with a LuxIII and TIROS running on 1-2x123
- KL4 Head: LuxV with a reflector for 2x123 (sold as the L4 flashlight), will run on 1x123 as the "TW4" combo
- Z52 LOTC
- Z57 Clicky
- E2D Guarded Tailcap with Clicky
- KX1 and KX2 (similar looking) with Cree XR-E LED

McLux-Series ==============================

modular_mclux_heads.jpg

modular_mclux_tails.jpg

Designed by McGizmo after the successful launch of the McLux-TK lights by Skunklights some years ago. In the old times when the grass was greener … :eek:
The McLux lights were customisable in a similar matter to the Aleph Series albeit on a less advanced level … meaning you could choose your driver, LED and battery configuaration but couldn't have a 2-stage, LE and so on.

- McLux Standard Head: came with a McFlood reflector but can accept all 17mm optics and reflectors by simply swapping them in without any tools.
- McLux PR Head: a bigger head with a 27mm Pelican Reflector ("PR") that is similar to the newer and better McR-27
- McLux PR-T Head: a trimmed down PR Head for applications with less need for heatsinking, otherwise the same (Don claims the "T" stands for "trimmed", but we all know it means "Turbo", of course :D :p)
- McLux Bodies 1x123, 2x123 and 3x123: with a Kroll clicky in the guarded multi-purpose tail-end as well as a Ti bezel-down clip

McLux-Aleph Series ==============================

Alephheads.jpg

Alephbodies.jpg

Alephtailcaps-primary-new.jpg

The next-generation McLux Series with a multitude of advantages … just read the Aleph-FAQ thread if you want to learn more.

- Aleph1 Head: 27mm McR-27 reflector (an improved PR)
- Aleph2 Head: 20mm McR-20 reflector
- Aleph3 Head: 38mm McR-38 reflector
- Aleph19 head: 19mm deep reflector for Cree7090-UV and really forgiving for ALL other LEDs, producing a concentrated flood
- Aleph Bodies 1x123, 1.5x123 (equals 1xPILA150 or 2xCR2), 2x123, 2x123 flared and 1xCR2
- Aleph Tailcap with McE2S 2-stage switch and various carrying options
- Aleph Trim Tailcap: the same as the standard tailcap but slimmer and only a lanyard hole
- Aleph Flat Top (FT) Tailcap: the smallest iteration with a "hair-trigger" switch
- Aleph Bald Tailcap: same as the FT but with a pronounced rubber switch button working like the standard model ... think of it like a black 2-stage Z52
- Aleph Standard Flat Top and Standard Bald Caps ... a combo of the standard and the FT with a "hair-trigger" switch / the standard rubber switch button without hair-trigger module
- Aleph LE (not pictured): the heart of the heads … can be swapped without tools
- McE2S switch module (not pictured): innards of the Aleph tailcap, resistor for the brightness of the low mode is customisable

With the revival of the Aleph System there is the Aleph Mule head, following the Mule concept of the McLuxIII Series:
t_mule_head2.jpg

It was also released as a stand-alone light with a new 1x123 power pack that sports an integrated McClicky switch and a ti-clip. This package was EN-plated.

Other McGizmo Parts ==============================

t640_mc_tc_overview.gif

The McTC tailcap is E-Series compatible and houses the McClicky module (1-stage non-reverse clicky) or a McE2S module.

DSpeck Parts ==============================

modular_dspeck.jpg

- UBH (Universal Battery Holder): a 3x123 body … :caution: up to the UBH version 2 the KL4 head will not fit! There might be issues with Aleph-Tailcaps such as difficult activation caused by a ridge in the battery tube :caution:
- Battery Spacers: a 2xAA sleeve to elimiate battery rattle when using 2xAA in the UBH as well as a pack of spacers to allow for a multitude of battery combinations in this versatile body. The Arc button is for joining an Arc LS head to the UBH. Of course those spacers work in all other E-Series compatible bodies just as fine :).
- E2C DSpeck Style: adapter to join a SF C-style bezel to an E-Series body … which opens the realm further in the C-Series world! First introduced by McGizmo (see below).
- AA and CR123 Battery Extenders: to add an additional battery of the chosen size to your light

Vitalgear ==============================

modularity_vitalgear_by_kj.jpg
VG_FB123.gif

vg_F2_b.jpg

Alternate bodies for the E-Series that are the smallest available to date IIRC. The first series came as twisties, but had waterproofness problems and were discontinued. The new ones (pic below) have clicky switches but basically retain their short aspect.

The head pictured above can house the original Vitalgear lamp or SF P60,P61, P90 and P91 type lamps and adopt them into the E-Series in a very small form factor.

Balrog Bodies ==============================

all_bodies1.jpg

Bodies made by member Balrog for the E-Series realm in various sizes:
- BE1: 1x123
- BE1,5: 1xPILA or 2xCR2
- BE2: 2x123
- BE3: 3x123 or 2xAA
- BE4: 4x123 (not pictured)

:caution: Some members reported unreliable action of Aleph-Tailcaps similar to the UBH problems :caution:

Arc LS Series ==============================

modular_arc.jpg

The Arc LS1 and LS2 Head may be screwed on E-Series compatible bodies, but will only work with DSpeck's appropriate "Arc-Spacer" to compensate for the length of the battery. This head will not fit on bodies with shoulders, especially the SF Elite bodies.

The TSP-123 Clicky and P-123 Twisty may only be used with an appropriate adapter (see below) to make a very small E-Series Twisty.

TnC-Series and parts ===========================

TnC came up with a proprietary series of lights, the SF-Series (not to be confused with Surefire). There is a significant overlap with the Surefire E-Series with the use of a multitude of adapters.
Visit them here: www.tncproducts.com

Here's some examples:

Other Parts =============================

modular_roth.jpg

This is an Arc/SF adapter made by Rothrandir to join an Arc LS tail (especially the twisty) to an E-Series head of your choice for a very small E-Series twisty light. Initially visited by McGizmo. Unfortunately only a few of these were ever made :( .

modular_e2c_mcgizmo.jpg

Original E2C adapter made by McGizmo. Except for double o-ring protection functionally identical to DSpeck's E2C. Well … except that McGizmo's E2C is a little bit easier to separate from the body should it get stuck … DSpeck's part is more difficult to grasp.

TBTubes038.jpg

Tranquility Base's E-Series compatible tube that fits the fat PILA 168A cells offers more power to the E-Series lights ... in 1x and 2x version and now with C-head adapter to run C-Series heads, too. More versions coming.

beautyshotproto14xb.jpg

ARCmania's MaxLite is E-Series compatible and uses a 2-stage tailcap similar to the Aleph System on a 1xAA body.

PEU's Pineapple body for E-Series 2x123 applications. No 18650 Li-Ions will fit. A head for this body is in the works.

That's it I think. I did not comment about the various finishes available since this would make the compilation difficult to sort through and wouldn't add anything to the functionality.
