Not sure I see the value of 3C vs. 4AA - as the only major improvemnt in the 3C is 5.5 hours of regulated vs. 4 hour of regulated light, at the cost of more bulk, weight, and price.

C-version will be most useful. Hope heat build up is not an issue though. If ran at high levels, limited heatsinking a plastic body flashlight has.
