There is a picture of it HERE on the Peak website. Looks like it will be nice. Can't wait to see some of the reviews.

Yes I have seen that picture, but havent examined it closely yet. I predict it is some kind of 2 123 light. Probably a heck of a lot of runtime in it. If it is a 1 watt powered by 2 or more 123s, I would expect a LOT of runtime.
If they havent even added specs to it on the website, then it must be very new.

MJ from Peak has addressed the Atlantic 1W in the Manufacturers section. Here are the specs:
Single CR123A battery
Runtime 2.5 hours to 50%
Brighter than Arc LSH-P
Twisty tailcap to turn on

Just checked Peak's site and there is Atlantic 1w AA and AAA versions coming soon. Can't wait for the reviews...

Don't anyone think this looks like one of TNC's AA?

Did you see the other 'soon to come' lights? They have a 3W and a 5W in the works.

It uses their standard McKinley body with a single 123 cell, twist on-off. It's about 3 1/2 inches long with the removable tail piece. Does use a reflector. I couldn't get a MSRP on it yet. I forgot to ask about the electronics....duh.

740 to 760cp is 60 Lumens. This from a 1W LED. Sounds similar to that other 1W 60 Lumen light(LRI Proton prototype 60 lumens with 1 AA for 3 hr. runtime.)

Candlepower(Candela) divided by 12.57 = Lumens
I see the Peak is rated at 40+ lumens HERE

Only if you have a perfect round radiator which radiates the same light intensity in any direction.
Which is very, very obvioulsly not the case here.

A bare incandescent bulb hanging from a wire comes to close to that.

The same here. Only a LiFe AA cell will deliver 1W for 3h. And 1W to a LED fed by a single AA cell will need about 1.3W input (Step up from lower voltage is less efficient).

Your values about the luminous flux are not realistic. Or maybe only a deacde too early....

120 BUCKS?? That seems a bit much for a 1W Luxeon. Probably the market will bear some of that, but I don't think they will be flying of the shelves at the price. I'm glad I got my seven LED McKinley before they dropped that line.

$120 seems like a reasonable price considering Arc's LS line of lights used to go for about $100 - $150 if I remember correctly.
