CNC-123 Octagon Body Closeout

The time is nigh to clean out the closet in anticipation of the newer version, aka Groovy!, in the near future.

For those unfamiliar with the CNC-123, it is a single cell C123 flashlight that accepts standard drivers such as the Badboy, Madmax Plus, NexGen, etc., that Wayne Yamaguchi sells. These drivers are all .55" in diameter and .300" tall, not measuring the Luxeon, just the sandwich.

What distinguishes the CNC-123 from other homemade lights, it that it can accept a variety of optics or a reflector. It will take the NX05, the Fraen narrow beam low profile optic, and the IMS 17mm reflector after some trimming. When using the Fraen optic or the IMS reflector, it helps to use a 20.5mm diameter lens for protection.

The over length is only 3.32", the diameter is 1" at the head. The light weighs about 2.2 ounces.

The switch is a clickie, the Kroll switch is located at the bottom of the light, recessed so that one can stand the light on end while on.

Here is a comparison shot with some other familiar lights, CNC-123 HA is the third from the right:

What kind of trimming is required on the reflectors? Are we talking sandpaper or lathe? I'm all thumbs so I'm not great at puzzles. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Thanks,

Lunal_Tic,

Just nail clippers and a fingernail file, or you can use sandpaper and a nice flat surface, like a piece of glass.

Just need to trim off the legs completely, then file the height down a couple of thous.

I can usually do it in about 5 minutes.

Thanks for the info PF. I think I can handle that kind of modding. . .maybe.

If I understand correctly:

1x EN: $40
1x Blue: $40
2x Borofloat lens, 20.5mm: $10
2x Special O-ring for use with borofloat lens: $1
2x IMS 17 mm reflector: $8
2x Badboy 500 mA sandwich with T-binned Lux III: $80
2x Kroll tailcap switch: $10
2x Retaining ring to hold sandwich in place: $1
+ Paypal fees = $195.7

If I got it right for 2 complete lights let me know and I'll PP that amount when I'm back tomorrow. Also my shipping addy is in the U.S. so no worries there. The T-bin Lux is a high dome right?

Thanks for your help,
-LT
