Hi all, I have a heap of Pila rechargeables - both types/sizes - and chargers etc but not any lights for them.

Looking for either LED or Incan flashlight suggestions around the $50US mark.

Throw is always better than flood in my book.

Thanks for the ideas guys!!!

Ok, maybe I'm being too vague...

Can anyone recommend to me any lights designed around or best suited to Pila rechargeables? Please? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I can recommend, but <$50 is tough...

The U2 is a perfect match for the 168A. We will ignore the price tag for now. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's certainly a different way of approaching this hobby. Most people would buy the light first and worry about the batteries second.

For the $50 price range, you might be limited to modding a M@g light for yourself. You could do a direct drive mod of some sort. The output using Pilas is pretty flat, so using a converter isn't really necessary.

These are some inexpensive Luxeon flashlights that require 2x123. Your Pila 168S should fit in most of them

Elektrolumens XM-2 (have to ask for it in B/S/T) $40

Inova T-2 $49

Inova XO3 $72

LedXtreme Predator $75

Nuwai ALX-032L $49 (need rare earth magnet from Radio Shack to make positive nipple)

Nuwai TM-115x Luxeon III $48

Nuwai TM-116X Luxeon V $70

Pelican M6 LED $59

Streamlight Tasklight 2L $67 (I like this one)

Streamlight TL-2 LED Generation 2 $59

If you try to go to incandescent you will get greatly reduced output but perhap a Dorcy Spider or Brinkman.

Thanks all you guys who answered /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm going to go dig around and see what pops up.

Yes, I have the batteries before the light. The Pilas are just perfect but I'm looking for something different to pad out my collection.

I am partial to LED lights lately and wouldn't mind having a blast with some Luxeons...

Thanks again!!
