It is like the X10 push lightly and get low push harder and get high or the same with twisting.

The "Digital" Switch of the L1 & A2 is NOT a click switch.
It is a "two-stage" pressure switch like the 10X.
Push for low output, push harder for main beam.

Locked Out
[rotate]
push for low beam
[rotate]
push for low beam, push harder for main beam
[rotate]
low beam constant-on, push for main beam
[rotate]
main beam constant-on.

No clicking involved.

I still can't get mine apart but I have tried and that might be bad.
Now the light isn't real reliable.
Quite a few times I've had to flick the head to get it to come on.
I haven't loosened it perceptibly but something is wrong somewhere.

I also just tried a half-assed runtime test versus the ARC-LSH.

The Arc was the first go go to moon mode but the Arc also stayed in moon mode long after the L1 was dead.
I was then able to put the dead battery from the L1 into the Arc and it went straight to moon mode.

I was looking forward to colored LS bezels until I tried to take my L1 apart. Man the head is on tight. Luckily I only have to tighten the bezel by hand to get it to work reliably so the colored bezels are still feasible (field replaceable). For those L1s that need an excessively tightened bezel for reliable operation replacement bezels may not be feasible. BUMMER.

Cheers.
