I have my personal R2GH Red-Orange POP2 V2.25 sammie and Q3 POP2 V2.25 modules.

I'm running both on regular CR123 and 2-AA Alkalines and NimH using the POP2, it works great /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Best of both worlds, R123 li-ons, regular CR123 or 2-AA alkys when your in a pinch /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well i must say that i am tempted,the only thing im worried about is all the functions.
It must be hard to use it as a normal flashlite.
I only wish there where 4 modes.
Strobe Burst Dim, high/low.
Or more like the Gladius,that would be something.

Is it hard to program the ui to get just the functions i want?

I have yet to receive my POP UI2.5 kit but I imagine it should be fairly simple to use. All those other modes to set different UIs you can forget about it =D They are nice to have but once you master one UI, you can forget about the other ones.

I don't think it's hard to use at all, just today we watched the movie 'Madagascar' at our local movie house. My daughter clicked once 'low mode', clicked twice pre-program 'medium' setting and we were able top find empty seats, of course the wife wanted to get some snacks and was left behind. I saw her comming in so I clicked 4 times for strobe to get her attention /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif we'll I think everyone saw that strobe but it was cool /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif


This is POP2 Version2.25 which is a 'combined' interface as U11 and U2 much simplier IMO.

Operation:

1st ON = default level (1=low)
2nd ON = alternate level
3rd ON = low level brightness selection
4th ON = strobe mode
5th ON = sos mode

Red one is nice runs on 3.0 volts but you know that right /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

@goldserve, I have not received your POP2 v2.22 for upgrade but you should get the one I sent within a few days from now,

And will the circuit push the R/O Lux to the max...
I really would like to see a 190 Lumen red,with burst /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I wish the Burst mode was on 4th on,though

I don;t have a light meter but,





It's really bright, the LDO using a single TPS73601 chip should be driving that lux at 600mA max.

It's also very bright using 1 CR123 surefire.

Also, I got some cree Xlamp UV LEDS and was able to place one on the Q3's copper heat sink. Really nice I'll be making some sammie versions soo.

NetMage, I was thinking of making a sammie version for my FF2 that's comming, i can make a UV Q3 for you if you want /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif The one I have now the UV is slightly off centered, not much , just slightly /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hahaha.gif
