What is needed to convert a 2C mag to bipin bulb use? Where is a source for parts, and how hard is it to do?

Get Kiu's high temp socket kit if you need it right away. However that will require some soldering, read the instructions to see if it something you will be able to do or not. The other alternative is to wait for Fivemega's PR to Bi-Pin adapter. It will be more expensive than Kiu's kit, but it doesn't require any work to assemble, and it will allow you to switch back and forth between using bi-pin and potted bulbs.
