...or at least prevents mild inconvenience.

Last night was kickball night (laugh if you must, but it's fun). The fall league plays on lit soccer fields; I was done with my game and was watching the last game finish up, when all of a sudden and without warning, the lights went out (it was 11pm).

It was pretty cloudy, so the moon wasn't much help. Fortunately, I had my new Arc AAA-P on my keychain, so I was able to light up and help people find their car keys (not a glowring or another flashlight to be found, imagine that).

I was very impressed with the performance of my Arc -- the throw was good and the spill was very useful. Several people thanked me and complimented me on having a flashlight, and a few said they would be prepared next week.

Too bad the Arc wasn't just a little bit brighter. Maybe you could have lit the field so the game could be finished! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/au.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I had a similar thing happen when I was in
Richmond one Sunday. After dropping someone off at the
RIC Airport I visited a Richmond mall just to
kill some time. All of a sudden the emergency(security)
alarm went off and it was ear-shattering. It appears
that security could not shut the alarm off and you could
then see attempts to cut the power because different systems(lighting)
went off and came back on when the alarm
didn't stop. Finally they decided to cut the main power to the mall
and everything was DARK.

I was in JC Penny and I fired up my Photon2 and actually
had people who asked to follow closely behind me so they
could see their way out. One gentleman said "all that light
from that tiny thing?..where did you get that?"

Of course to 'aholics it's no biggie.

Well, let's see -- the 4-D Mag (with Everled) is a little tough to tote around.

Now that I think about it, I could have used the turboflares as bases...no, wait, I only have 2 in the car.

Other than that, it's just a dorcy AAA in the sun visor pocket, and I just added a 3-AA, 4 LED Lightwave (forget the model) to the glove box. And my ARC LSL in with my work clothes.

Oh, and I had my laptop bag, so also a MiniMag with Opalec, Inova X5 HA, GloToob FX, and X1.

I'm not really into high-end photon blasters; my lights are pretty utilitarian.

Hrm, how did I end up carrying so many around?

Yeah, watch'em bring yellow RayOVac's /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yellowlaugh.gif You should be "prepared" too and start carrying something brighter than an ArcAAA, just for chuckles.
