I have read now 3 separate articles in the last month about people having their names changed by "customer service" people that they must have angered on the phone.

Could this be the work of a single disgruntled customer service agent that keeps getting fired and moving to other companies?

While that article does say that he talked to them on the phone, I'll bet he did.

So the new rule is to be polite as you tell the telemarketer that you dont want whatever they are trying to sell you or they will alter your name to something insulting...
