I just got an Inova Microlight w/white LED from the local Target today (for 7 bucks) and picked out the brightest and best beam out of all they had. About 2 hours after I got it I turned it on and nothing happened (worked fine right out of the package). Come to find out the LED came loose and wasn't making contact (the LED can't come out because of the way the case is molded). I just shoved it in and then it worked fine. Has anyone else had this problem? Just wondering if this is a known problem with these lights.
I think I'll just ever so slightly bend the leads so they will wedge in their respective contact holes a little better. One plus to the loose LED- if I just shake my keys a few seconds, the LED comes out of the socket and I don't have to worry about accidently turning the light on when it's in my pocket.:ironic:
It appears the LED leads are about 2mm too short or that the sockets just don't hold tight enough. I may just put a small o-ring around the LED right above the ridge to allow the case to hold it in place properly.
I don't want to take it back for exchange- it was the best one they had- beamwise anyway!
Signs of a true flashaholic!- make it work if the beam was the pick of the lot.
